The Parasite and the Pet
Alyson “Lesson” Lapis, once a loyal soldier of an order of ancient knights now works alone as a bounty hunter, taking on threats the guild ignores. On finding she’s earned a reputation as the Warden, a reluctant enforcer of the vampire’s own laws, Lesson discovers the Archduke, an ancient vampire who kept order for three centuries, has fallen ill. Without his control, dissenters grow brazen, leaving bodies in the streets and daring open rebellion, leaving humans more vulnerable than ever.
When Lesson’s investigation provides more proof that the Archduke’s decline isn’t natural, she cross paths with Lady Verity Valleau, a vampire of the Archduke’s court, beautiful, dangerous, and endlessly amused. She takes one look and knows she’s found her new favorite toy.
The Parasite and the Pet is a dark romance and part dark comedy, exploring a messy, sapphic Van Helsing and Dracula dynamic.
